An update on what I have been up to in my first two months at ROUTEpr…
Since writing the first blog I have been involved in so much more with ROUTEpr and have graduated from university with First Class honours!
In the past month I have worked at The Lester Brunt Wealth Management and Property Wealth Insurance Charity Golf Day in aid of Diverse Abilities held at Ferndown Golf Club. The event ran smoothly and was a great success all round, raising substantial money for the charity. Apart from racing around on a golf buggy, I was on hand to meet and greet guests, ensure that the event was running smoothly, take photos of the guests, and in advance of the event I was working alongside the team arranging the silent auction, the main auction and the raffles, as well as showcasing products and banners, finalising the dining area and table plans, not to mention networking with guests and clients which were all contacts of ROUTEpr.
In the office I have been given more responsibility and tasks of my own such as designing business cards, creating websites and blogs, writing press releases, and working on PR proposals for prospective clients. I also had my first ever radio feature on Radio Wimborne talking about my new role as Account Executive at ROUTEpr which was interesting and quite scary too but Jackie gave me media tips and Richard assisted me with the interview. I have also been busy on social media promoting ROUTEpr (please feel free to like our pages and engage with us) and I have created a new Instagram account for us – @ROUTEpr (please follow us!).
We recently won a contract with The Game Fair and I was sent up to the prestigious Ragley Hall, in Warwickshire this weekend to help out. There was a lot of work involved before the event started; I was tasked with the job of finding artisans to share their stories about their businesses and showcase their products. This was the first time ROUTEpr had been involved with the event and we were behind the new concept this year featuring artisan and alongside political talks in the Game Fair Theatre. The Managing Director James Gower was delighted with our contribution to the event and we hope to be more involved next year! I was there on the Friday representing ROUTEpr to help the media team and organisers, as well as spending time engaging with the exhibitors, and running the speaker’s corner area at the Game Fair. We were also working with celebrity chef Lesley Waters and her team, as we had organised her association with the show and brought in the new look Lesley Waters Cookery School Theatre at the event. It’s great to be involved with such a prestigious national event and to be responsible for making things happen such as these new features at the Game Fair.
Back in Dorset, I have also attended various networking events such as the Wimborne Square Networking and the Bournemouth Air Festival Patrons launch; I know I am gaining confidence and building relationships with our clients and other contacts, not to mention meeting and getting to know journalists too.
There is never a dull moment here at ROUTEpr – next we have the Powerboat P1 racing Grand Finale to look forward to which is taking place along Bournemouth’s seafront on 3rd and 4th September, this is a worldwide event and great coverage for Bournemouth to be seen globally.
We are already putting focus on the 2017 Bournemouth Tourism Awards as the Launch event is fast approaching this September, I am helping with marketing, sponsorship, and press releases as well as promoting the event via social media and through the media, and we are already planning the 3 events; Launch, Semi-finals and the Final Gala Dinner Event, which I am actively involved in.
